Why I Blog

I went to the doctors January 29th 2010 with a few health problems and she put me on the scales i weighed in at 154 kgs and at a height of 5"10 this was way to much.  She put me on a diet and told me to take exercise i have always mountain biked and in the summer i would always shift some weight and i thought I was a big lad but fit.  In the winter the weight would get put back on.  So out of the shed with the mountain bike and strictly followed the diet the doctor gave me and the weight dropped off averaging about a stone a month.
I was reading my mountainbike magazines and saw an article about Clive Chapman and his weight loss journey and his blog about it http://massivemtber.blogspot.com/.  This led into other blogs on cycling and even joined in 150 leisure miles in july which i entered and completed 358.9 miles at moment of writing this i weigh in at a  117.4 kg which is about 18and half stone.  I have still a long way to go and thought i will blog about the journey I live in Redcar on the north east coast and ride usually in local woods and the North Yorkshire Moors which i know very well from my hiking days.
