I built the bike from mostly second hand  ebay parts and use a single speed converter for a standard mountain rear wheel.  The frame can only used as a singlespeed it has sliding dropouts for chain ajustments and has no cable mounts.  Because of my size i had to choose durable parts that can take a battering and could not go super lightweight but the bike weighs in just under 23lbs.  If you need advice on singlespeeding a bike please contact me i have many years experience and would help anyone with their own projects
